SUMMARY:Celebrate Trails Day Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:As a part of Celebrate Trails Day\, our Trail Development Team is hosting a casual bike ride along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail starting at Southside Riverfront Park! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro\, this event is perfect for all skill levels. Enjoy the scenic trails along the river and soak up the sunshine with other local cyclists. We are riding at a casual pace to Hazelwood Brewhouse (the route is approximately 12 miles round trip)). We will make a return trip after conversation and libations (or you are free to stay as long as you’d like). Don’t miss out on this opportunity to celebrate the Three Rivers Heritage Trail and learn about ongoing trail expansion projects with the Trail Development team at Friends of the Riverfront!\n\n\nGENERAL ROUTE\n\n\n\nWe will take the Three Rivers Heritage Trail along the South Side segment to Station Square and across the Smithfield Street Bridge onto the Mon Wharf Connector into Point State Park. We will stop at the Point State Park fountain for a break to enjoy (BYO) snacks\, etc. From there\, we will take the Mon-Wharf Connector to use the Eliza Furnace segment toward the Hot Metal Bridge. Here\, we will switchback down to street level and cross toward Hazelwood Green\, where we will take the shared use path and trail to Hazelwood Brewhouse. There are plenty of bike racks at the brewery for us to lock our bikes up with indoor and outdoor seating! Bring a helmet\, bike lock\, water\, snacks and money if you’d like something at the brewery.\n\nPOGOH STATIONS NEARBY\n\nIf you need a bike\, there is a POGOH station nearby at the intersection of S 22nd Street and Sidney Street.
