Because the safety and comfort of our riders is always our top priority\, we feel it is best to call things off rather than risk riding in hazardous conditions or getting caught in a storm.\n\nWe are incredibly grateful for your support and interest in exploring the trail with us\, and we are disappointed that the weather isn’t cooperating this time around. We hope to get another ride on the calendar soon\, and we will keep you updated on any future trail events.\n\nThank you for your understanding\, stay dry\, and we hope to see you out on the trail under clearer skies soon!\n\n\nSummer Bike Ride: Three Rivers Heritage Trail\nHosted by Friends of the Riverfront Trail Development Team \n\n\nJoin our Trail Development Team this summer for a casual bike ride along the scenic Three Rivers Heritage Trail! Whether you’re a beginner looking to build confidence or a seasoned cyclist wanting a relaxed cruise\, this ride is perfect for all skill levels. \nWe will ride at a casual pace from Millvale Riverfront Park to the Eliza Furnace Trailhead and back (approximately 16 miles round trip). Folks/families seeking a shorter option are welcome to join us for the first leg to Point State Park (approx. 8 miles round trip) and head back to Millvale at their own pace. \n\n\nA No-Drop Ride: This is a “no-drop” ride\, meaning no one will be left behind. We will have a designated ride leader at the front and a “caboose” at the back to ensure the entire group stays together\, comfortable\, and safe. \n\nEvent Schedule & Details\n\n 	\n10:00 AM: Arrive and gather at Millvale Riverfront Park \n\n 	\n10:15 AM: Wheels roll! \n\n 	\nThe Route: We will take a 10-15 minute breaks at Point State Park and again Eliza Furnace Trailhead (turnaround spot) to rest\, chat\, and enjoy any snacks or water you’ve brought along (BYO). During our turnaround break\, our team will also share a quick update on upcoming trail expansion projects within the Three Rivers Heritage Trail network! Folks/families seeking a shorter option are welcome to join us for the first leg to Point State Park (approx. 8 miles round trip) and head back to Millvale at their own pace. \n\n\n\n\n\nImportant Information\n\n 	\nFamily & Kids: Young riders are welcome! SUMMARY:West End Cleanup and Tree Planting with NFL Green
DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of the Riverfront and Allegheny CleanWays in partnership with Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL Green for a cleanup and tree planting in preparation for the 2026 NFL Draft!\n\nVolunteers will meet in the parking lot of Chartiers Crossing before heading out to cleanup litter and plant trees throughout the Esplen/McKees Rocks neighborhoods and riverbanks.\n\nBe advised\, volunteers signing up for riverbank cleanups will be required to board Allegheny CleanWays boat to get to the site. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Volunteers are also encouraged to wear long sleeves and hats to protect from poison ivy\, ticks\, and sunburn. Cleanups can be messy\, we encourage volunteers to wear clothes that can get dirty. Join us our next Train on the Trail in March! \n\nJoin Friends of the Riverfront on Saturday\, February 28 on the Lawrenceville segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for our first Train on the Trail Session of 2026!\n\nThe Audubon Society of Western Pa will be leading an in-person training session where participants will learn how to identify winter trees based on bark\, twigs\, buds\, shape\, and even smell. Join us as we take a closer look at the diverse species of trees present along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail!\n\nThe 2026 Train on the Trail series will offer enrichment opportunities for volunteers and trail users to gain introductory knowledge and skills that will benefit their trail experience\, including native and invasive plants\, watercraft safety\, tree pruning and identification\, and more!\n\nAn email will be sent the week of the event with details.
