SUMMARY:(Almost) Earth Day Tree Planting - South Side
DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of the Riverfront as we celebrate the 56th Earth Day with a native tree planting along the South Side section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail!\n\n\n\nVolunteers will:\n\n\n 	Plant mature balled and burlapped (B&B) trees\n 	Collect litter along the trail\n 	Clear undesired vegetation\n 	Other general trail maintenance needs\n\nPlease wear sturdy closed-toed shoes\, long pants\, and layered sleeves that can be removed. Monitor the forecast and dress for the weather\, we will work through light to moderate rain. Bring a reusable water bottle\, water refills will be provided. All other project supplies and equipment will be provided.\n\nOnce registered\, you will receive a confirmation email. SUMMARY:West End Cleanup and Tree Planting with NFL Green
DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of the Riverfront and Allegheny CleanWays in partnership with Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL Green for a cleanup and tree planting in preparation for the 2026 NFL Draft!\n\nVolunteers will meet in the parking lot of Chartiers Crossing before heading out to cleanup litter and plant trees throughout the Esplen/McKees Rocks neighborhoods and riverbanks.\n\nBe advised\, volunteers signing up for riverbank cleanups will be required to board Allegheny CleanWays boat to get to the site. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Volunteers are also encouraged to wear long sleeves and hats to protect from poison ivy\, ticks\, and sunburn. Cleanups can be messy\, we encourage volunteers to wear clothes that can get dirty. An additional email will be sent the day prior to the workday with project details; registration after 12:00 pm will not receive the details email.
