Please check our website for future events.\n\n\nJoin Friends of the Riverfront on Saturday\, March 21 on the River Ave segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for our second Train on the Trail Session of 2026! \n\n\nTree Pittsburgh will be leading an in-person training session where participants will learn proper tree pruning techniques for young and maturing trees in a trail and streetscape setting. Join us as we help strengthen the health\, safety\, and longevity of our urban tree canopy! \n\nThe 2026 Train on the Trail series will offer enrichment opportunities for volunteers and trail users to gain introductory knowledge and skills that will benefit their trail experience\, including native and invasive plants\, watercraft safety\, tree pruning and identification\, and more!\n\nAn email will be sent the week of the event with details. DESCRIPTION:Join us on the Eliza Furnace West section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for a Trail Care Thursday opportunity with Tree Pittsburgh!\n\n\nVolunteers will:\n\n	Weed and clear undesired vegetation along the tree beds\n	Tend to young trees\n	Spread mulch provided by Tree Pittsburgh\n	Collect litter\n	Other general trail maintenance needs\n\n\n\nPlease wear sturdy shoes\, long pants\, and layered sleeves to be removed. Monitor the forecast and dress for the weather\, we will work through light to moderate rain. Bring a reusable water bottle\, water will not be available. All other project supplies and equipment will be provided.\n\n\nOnce registered\, you will receive a confirmation email.
