Construction on the Parkway East retaining walls adjacent to the trail is underway. A steel protective fence has been installed to allow for safe passage between the access points at Second Avenue at Brady Street and Second Avenue at Hot Metal Bridge. When construction is active, the protective fence will be pushed out to allow workers access to their site. The temporary widening of the trail allows us to maintain a 10 foot width for trail traffic while the protective fence is pushed out.
A sign at the end of the construction fence contains symbols for no pedestrian and no bicycle traffic, however, it is intended to notify trail traffic that they are not permitted to enter the construction work zone. Please use caution, but know that the Three Rivers Heritage Trail remains open at this time.
