Join us on the River Avenue segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for a special Trail Care Friday opportunity in celebration of Arbor Day 2024. Volunteers will plant 40 trees along the riverfront as part of a continued restoration initiative. Project includes planting site prep, tree pit excavation, planting and protecting, watering, and vegetation management of the surrounding riverbank. Join Friends of the Riverfront for 2024’s second Train on the Trail installment! Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy's Naturalist Educator, Stephen Bucklin, will be leading us on a bird walk along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Participants will learn to identify birds species and gain a understanding of the natural ecosystem surrounding our trail system.

Join us at the Cheswick Water Trail Launch on the Three Rivers Water Trail for Trail Care Tuesday! Volunteers will assist in clearing undesired vegetation, collecting litter along the riverbank, and cleaning the launch in preparation for new equipment.
