We are grateful for everyone who chooses to support our work, building and maintaining the Three Rivers Heritage Trail & Three Rivers Water Trail and connecting people to our rivers.
There are many ways to support the Trails including donations, in-kind donations, matching gifts, bequests, donations from a trust or donor-advised fund, planned giving, and gifts of stock. You can also buy Friends shirts and sweatshirts!

What's the difference between a donation to Friends, and a Friends membership? Can I do both?
Both are excellent ways to support our work on our trails! Donation is an option that works for most people, since it can be at any level you choose. It can be just once, or a way to give to Friends on a monthly basis. Donors are absolutely crucial to our work expanding, maintaining, and advocating for trails.
Membership is a program we have redesigned to offer a way for people to get involved in Friends, sometimes for the first time, at a level they can be comfortable with – but with an annual, renewable commitment. Through our member appreciation event, FriendsFest, it also provides an extra opportunity to build our support community through our Member Appreciation event.
Yes, you can do both, and we hope lots of people do! That’s why we offer the chance to opt in to a membership with your qualifying donation. We want supporting Friends to work for everyone. We also know that many of our donors may be interested in receiving the benefits of membership and joining us at FriendsFest.

Check to find out if your donation is eligible for a matching donation by your employer. Before donating, check with your employer to determine if they offer a company dollar-for-dollar match. Usually all it takes is to complete and submit a simple form to your employer to double your contribution to Friends of the Riverfront. If you’re unsure if your company offers a matching program, please contact your company’s HR representative. Just a few companies that offer a match are Google, Microsoft, BNY Mellon, and Duquesne Light Company. It can make a BIG difference in your impact!
