Volunteers will:
- Start at the Boston Boat Launch and collect litter
- Float down the Youghiogheny River collecting trash along the way
- End at the Port Vue Launch and collect litter
Volunteers will meet at the Boston Boat Launch, we will launch as a group and float down the river collecting litter along the way and end at the Port Vue Launch. We will leave the boats at Port Vue with a Friends staff member and participants will be boated back to the Boston Boat Launch via Allegheny CleanWays boat in order to get back to their vehicles.
Registration is limited to 12 participants; if you have your own vessel (kayak or canoe), we encourage you to bring it. We have 12 available seats in the Friends fleet in a kayak or canoe for those that do not.
Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and layered sleeves to be removed. Monitor the forecast and dress for the weather, we will work through light to moderate rain. Bring a reusable water bottle, water will not be available. All other project supplies and equipment will be provided.
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email. An additional email will be sent the day prior to the workday with project details; registration after 12:00 pm will not receive the details email.
