Abandoned Boat Policy
New policy regarding boat racks along the Three Rivers Water Trail
The segment of Three Rivers Heritage Trail in Chateau between Branchport Street and N Franklin Street will be temporarily closed due to repairs needed. It will be closed to all pedestrian and bike traffic. The suggested detour uses Metropolitan St.
The pedestrian walkway that parallels the Ft. Duquesne Bridge will be closed from both sides effective 6/4 through 6/6 for Point State Park renovations.
The portion of Nine Mile Run Trail between Duck Hollow and Commercial St. will be closed starting July 7, 2025 for two weeks, ending on July 18 for the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh’s (URA) Swisshelm Park Solar Project.
Join us on the Chateau section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for a Trail Care Tuesday opportunity! Volunteers will clear undesired vegetation, collect litter and clear debris, and other general trail maintenance needs.
Water Trail Care Saturday with Allegheny CleanWays - Youghiogheny River

Join Friends of the Riverfront and Allegheny CleanWays on the Youghiogheny River for a Three Rivers Water Trail tributary river-based Water Trail Care Saturday opportunity! We will meet at Boston Boat Launch, float down the Youghiogheny River collecting trash along the way, and end at the Port Vue Launch. This event is for experienced paddlers only.
Train on the Trail - Aquatic Species & River Health

Join Friends of the Riverfront for 2025's seventh Train on the Trail session! Creek Connections along with PA Master Naturalists will be leading an in-person training session where participants will learn about macroinvertebrates, sampling techniques, how these species are connected to river health, and more!
We offer trail clean up events for volunteers and regular stewardship opportunities. Your financial support helps build and maintain the Three Rivers Heritage Trail and Water Trail.
