Join Friends of the Riverfront for the final Train on the Water Trail session of the season!
Rivers of Steel will share their knowledge of our region’s riverfront heritage and history during and evening float on the Monongahela River between the Braddock Water Trail Launch and Carrie Blast Furnaces National Historic Landmark. Participants will learn about indigenous history, steel valley heritage, and present day reinvention and community connection with local riverfronts that will increase their understanding and enjoyment of the Three Rivers Heritage and Water Trails.
Due to on-water safety considerations and limited watercraft capacity, this event will be limited to 16 participants. Up to 8 participants may bring their own non-motorized watercraft; 8 seats in Friends fleet will be provide on a first come first served basis. A detailed participant overview will be provided to all registered participants in advance.
The 2026 Train on the Trail series offers enrichment opportunities for volunteers and trail users to gain introductory knowledge and skills that will benefit their trail experience, including water quality awareness, heritage and history of the three rivers, bird identification, and more!
