Join Friends of the Riverfront and Allegheny CleanWays in partnership with Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL Green for a cleanup and tree planting in preparation for the 2026 NFL Draft!
Volunteers will meet in the parking lot of Chartiers Crossing before heading out to cleanup litter and plant trees throughout the Esplen/McKees Rocks neighborhoods and riverbanks.
Be advised, volunteers signing up for riverbank cleanups will be required to board Allegheny CleanWays boat to get to the site. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Volunteers are also encouraged to wear long sleeves and hats to protect from poison ivy, ticks, and sunburn. Cleanups can be messy, we encourage volunteers to wear clothes that can get dirty. Work gloves and other necessary tools and materials will be provided. Please be sure to bring your filled reusable water bottle! Please reach out to Ashley Martin, Trail Stewardship Program Manager, with questions at ashley@friendsoftheriverfront.org. Thank you for joining our efforts!
