Madelyn recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. Born on the other side of PA, she began as an intern with Friends in 2020 while she was still attending school, working mainly with the Trail Development and Communications Team. Goodbyes are hard, so she stuck around after graduating and officially joined our staff as the Communications and Development Coordinator in 2023! As the Communications and Development Coordinator, Madelyn works to fulfill communications and fundraising goals, and support the expansion of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail by assisting with development initiatives. She enjoys her work at Friends, as she believes the work done here makes a difference in the community and prioritizes environmental awareness. She also appreciates the opportunity this position gives her to explore more of Pittsburgh’s riverfront trails and interact with the local community.
