In 2023, Friends of the Riverfront partnered with the City of Pittsburgh Department of Mobility and Infrastructure to raise funding through the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources to complete a Maintenance Plan for the Three Rivers Heritage trail within city limits. This plan will act as a blueprint for city departments and regional partners to guide the long term maintenance and restoration of the trail. This plan will focus on four key ares of focus:

  • Canopy and Invasive Plant Management
  • Riparian Restoration and Preservation
  • Trail Service and Drainage Management
  • Maintenance Financing
