Train on the Trail – Native and Invasive Species

April 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free
Join Friends of the Riverfront for 2024’s first Train on the Trail installment!

Penn State Extension educator Sandy Feather will provide an on-trail overview of native and invasive plant species trail users can expect to find along the Three Rivers Heritage & Water Trails and throughout Allegheny County – maybe even your backyard! Participants will learn to identify plants species and gain a understanding of the natural ecosystem surrounding our trail system.

The 2024 Train on the Trail series will offer enrichment opportunities for volunteers and trail users to gain introductory knowledge and skills that will benefit their trail experience, including native and invasive plants, watercraft safety, tree pruning and identification, riparian ecosystems, and more!

An email will be sent the week of the event with details. Email Ashley Martin, Trail Stewardship Program Coordinator, with any questions at ashley@friendsoftheriverfront.org.
