Trail Care Thursday – Baldwin

Join us on the Baldwin segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for a Trail Care Thursday opportunity! Volunteers will assist in tending to the single track trail, clearing undesired vegetation, and the beautification of the parklet. *worksite is only accessible by trail

Train on the Trail – Watercraft Basics & Safety

Join Friends of the Riverfront for 2024’s third Train on the Trail installment! American Canoe Association certified Instructor, Jamie Cortese, will be leading us on an introductory level overview of kayak and canoe basics, foundational non-motorized safety, and general approaches to launching and paddling our Three Rivers!

Trail Care Tuesday – Eliza Furnace

Join us on the Eliza Furnace segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for a Trail Care Tuesday opportunity! Volunteers will assist in the beautification of the trailhead, clearing undesired vegetation, and collecting litter along the trail.

Trail Care Saturday with Allegheny CleanWays – Duck Hollow

REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL. Join us on the Duck Hollow portion of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail for Trail Care Saturday! Friends of the Riverfront joins Allegheny CleanWays (ACW) for a day of volunteering on the Three Rivers Heritage & Water Trail.

Trail Care Tuesday – Cheswick

Join us at the Cheswick Water Trail Launch on the Three Rivers Water Trail for Trail Care Tuesday! Volunteers will assist in clearing undesired vegetation, collecting litter along the riverbank, and cleaning the launch in preparation for new equipment.

Train on the Trail – Identifying Birds of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail

Join Friends of the Riverfront for 2024’s second Train on the Trail installment! Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy’s Naturalist Educator, Stephen Bucklin, will be leading us on a bird walk along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Participants will learn to identify birds species and gain a understanding of the natural ecosystem surrounding our trail system.

Celebrate Trails Day Bike Ride

As a part of Celebrate Trails Day, our Trail Development Team is hosting a fun-filled bike ride along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail starting at Millvale Riverfront Park! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, this event is perfect for all skill levels. Enjoy the scenic trails along the river, breathe in the fresh air, and soak up the sunshine with fellow biking enthusiasts.

Plant Walk with Herbalists without Borders

As part of Celebrate Trails Day, we are partnering with Herbalists without Borders to put on a riverfront plant walk along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail!
